Stevie is a pickanniny and her pickaninny hair gave her a pickaninny attitude that followed her throughout her life. Bald headed and teased for most of her childhood, she felt like an alien in her own world. Cursed with a boys name, bucked teeth, and a face scarred by acne and chickenpox, she hated herself which made it hard to love anyone. ROUGH RUGGED, AND RAW, Stevie’s childhood was a horrendous mix of pain, self loathing and drug abuse.
